How eBay fees work in 2026
eBay charges a final value fee (FVF) on the total sale — item price plus buyer-paid shipping — that ranges from 6.35% to 15% depending on category. Most categories sit at 13.25% for sellers without a store, dropping to 12.35% with a Basic store or higher. There's also a small per-order fee of $0.30-0.40.
The big change is for US private sellers: since October 2024, individuals selling occasional personal items pay 0% in final value fees in most categories. Business sellers — anyone buying to resell — pay the full schedule plus a 0.35% regulatory operating fee. This calculator handles both so you see the right number.
A worked example
Sell a $60 item with $6 buyer-paid shipping and no store: the final value fee is 13.25% of $66 ($8.75), plus a $0.40 per-order fee and $0.23 regulatory fee. eBay keeps about $9.38, so you net roughly $56.62 before your item cost. International sales add 1.65%, and promoted listings add whatever ad rate you set on top.
